Early Childhood Programs

These programs are free or low cost for qualifying children. Head Start and Early Head Start families must meet low income guidelines. Colorado Preschool Program has separate eligibility criteria. Child Care Assistance is available at a few centers to provide child care for parents who are working or in an eligible training activity. See Enrollment for more information.

Early Head Start – center-based care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old (in La Plata County only)
Head Start - center-based pre-kindergarten care and education for children ages 3-5 years old
Colorado Preschool Program – pre-kindergarten education for 4 years olds

• We link families to community resources to help parents achieve goals for themselves and their child.
